use of organic or regional products

It is remarkable how different the ecological footprint of seemingly interchangeable products can be. Using local food is generally more environmentally friendly than importing products from around the world. That is why we have started to take a closer look at our purchasing policy.

Fair and Attractive

Our team clothing in Bremerhaven comes from Stanley & Stella. These textiles are made from certified organic cotton under fair working conditions – and they also look great.

Organic certified

Although not all of the food we purchase is certified organic, we are continually working to expand our inventory. For example, in Bremerhaven we already source boiled breakfast eggs, jams, tea and coffee from organic sources.

From local suppliers

We do everything we can to know our suppliers for the Bistro Übersee personally. For this reason, we source many of our products from small family businesses in the region. For example, we get our sausages, which come from free-range pigs, from the Icken organic farm. We get our milk and yoghurt from the Kück dairy farm.

Good Neighborhood

The regional origin also characterizes our gastronomic offerings on Rügen. We prefer to buy from our local gardeners for fresh vegetables, from the fishermen in Lauterbach for the fresh catch, from the organic farm around the corner for cheese, and we get the meat from free-range cattle and game from the biosphere reserve from our regional hunters.

Our commitment to ecological sustainability and regional value creation is firmly anchored in our corporate culture, and we are continuously committed to further developing and implementing these principles.
