From us to you
We have put together a list of our personal favourite places for you, where you can take exciting day trips to the beautiful and varied island landscapes.
Visit the “White City“ and take a long walk through the princely palace park and through the classicist town center. Some historic buildings that once belonged to the palace are still preserved and can be visited. For example, the pergola on the swan pond, which once formed the terrace of Putbus Palace. The stables, the orangery, the palace church and the mausoleum of the princely family are still completely preserved.

On Rügen, there are megalithic tombs, the oldest evidence of human culture and settlement on the island. The megalithic tombs, or dolmens, were built from boulders or large stones. Unfortunately, many of these structures have disappeared from the map due to agriculture in the last hundred years. However, you can still find some of the megalithic tombs scattered all over the island, which are suitable for a detour and a short sightseeing tour.
The hiking and cycling path along the Bodden shore begins right next to the water holiday world. On the trip you will pass the Goor bathhouse and the small village of Muglitz to the fishing village of Groß Stresow. Visit Haase's ice hut, which is located directly on the cycle path behind the town entrance opposite the small natural beach.

The excursion restaurant, located above the idyllic fishing village of Moritzdorf, is an ideal destination for long walks or bike rides along the Rügen Bodden. The path leads past the Having and up the hills. The climb from the fishing village up the stairs to Moritzburg is rewarded with a magnificent view of the Bodden landscape. Regional dishes, homemade cakes, coffee specialties and ice cream sundaes await you in the restaurant.
A Part of History
The bathing culture on Germany's largest island is world-famous: the largest seaside resorts are Binz, Sellin, Göhren, Baabe and Thiessow. With miles of beaches, historic piers and well-kept promenades, they invite you to spend leisurely afternoons on the beach or relaxed walks along the Baltic Sea - and make up part of the island's special charm. In the Gründerzeit period of the 19th century, the bathing culture of the Baltic Sea reached its peak and the magnificent villas on Rügen became increasingly popular. Even today, you can still find the playful Art Nouveau elements on many buildings and feel transported to another time on the way through the villa districts. On your journey to the various places, you can enjoy the landscape of the island's interior and drive through numerous green avenues.
