The small sea, as the Müritz is affectionately called, is considered a paradise for sailing and motor yachting. But the Mecklenburg Lake District is also a dream area for surfers, water skiers and canoeists. In Waren we welcome you to the most popular marina in the Mecklenburg Lake District - with 160 berths on floating jetties, permanent residents and guests alike can find space here to relax. The area around our home port of Waren is captivating with its lovely landscape with countless lakes, lush meadows and extensive forests. Our tip: take a deep breath and just let yourself drift!

jewel on the Müritz
The town of Waren lies in the heart of the Mecklenburg Lake District - a unique region that was formed around 10 years ago during the last great ice age. The melting of the glaciers has led to the rugged, lake-rich landscape, which, with its forests and moors, has great recreational value for nature lovers - and is largely protected. The Müritz is the largest German inland lake, bordered by the Müritz National Park, which also holds the record for area within Germany. The Nossentiner Schwinzer Heide Nature Park is also located northwest of Waren.
If you want to explore the region, you can also set sail without sailing: Several shipping companies offer tours on the Müritz and the nearby lakes. Tourists can also book day trips to Rheinsberg or Plau am See. For tours on land, an extensive network of cycling and hiking trails to observation huts and towers awaits you in the Müritz National Park.
